For handling and reliability, the Porsche is better.
For top speed, the Porsche is better.
For acceleration, they are exactly the same.
For comfort, it would be the Audi.
For Style, that is tough to answer. Both look great. Maybe the Audi has the better looks.

speed style comfort safety
First off, porsches are the King of the Tracks, and the Cayman is no exception. Also, all porshces are about precision on the road and requires a high degree of experience-driving-skills. The Cayman’s ride is surprisingly good, softer than the 911 Turbo or the Boxster, which are more hard-core. In terms of speed, you are looking at around 4~5 seconds to hit 60/mph. The style? the cayman is the lastest production of porsche, and has better aerodynamics than the 911 or the boxster.
~The Audi S5 has a very techy- interior, basically one you sit in one, you will find yourself bathed in luxury amenities,–lots of electronic gadgets, toys to play around with. The degree of comfort is better than the Cayman, making it a very good everyday road-car, occationally hitting the tracks. The speed and style are equall to the Cayman. But hey, the S5 is four-door while the Cayman is a 2-door. I have taken the S5 drifting in the snow before ( traction control disabled-ofcourse) and it performed admirably.
~ All in all, if you are looking for the purest of driving experiences, then go for the leather- interiored Cayman. But if you are looking for a practical car with admirable performance and comfort, the S5 is your everyday car.

The S5 is physically a lot larger than a Cayman, it is also a 2+2 rather than a pure 2 seater.
It really all depends on what you want. The Cayman is a pure sports car the S5 is more a practical all round coupe but will be a strong performer as well. I would not normally compare the two as they are so different. A more suitable comparison to the S5 would be the BMW M3 Coupe.

the cayman s is the better performance/handling option.
the s5 is the comfort/back seat/safety option.
if you dont NEED the S5 then buy a Cayman S…..:o)

This is really an apples and oranges comparison. The Audi is fast 2+2 coupe. It’s an attractive saloon, and reasonably fast, but it’s a big, comfortable car. There’s rumors that Audi is going to launch a RS5 possibly in MY 2010, so if you want the latest and greatest, you may find yourself pining for the next iteration soon.
The Cayman, on the other hand, is a dedicated two seater sports car. Impractical as an only car, but great handling and feel. Unless you opt for the S, it will likely be *slower* than the S5, however. Take note, they are also launching a redesign of the Cayman in MY 2009, so here too, those obsessed with the latest and greatest may want to wait a while.
Overall, on the criteria that you asked about, comfort, speed and style, I would have to go with the S5. Make it a Cayman S and the S5 would still win in two of the criteria (comfort and style). One item not on your list, handling, would go to the Porsche every time.
