I really like the Q7’s style.. but i’m looking for a car with good fuel economy tooo…people told me that the audi q7 prestige 4.2 will be better than the premium plus b/c it’s the top of the line….It might be better… but I didnt understand y a car would cost 10k more and uses more gas per mileage.
Is it really worth it to get the top of the line of Q7 or the premium plus is just as good???? any opinions

There are two things that you need to consider here.
The Q7 is available with two different engines in North America:
3.6L V6 - 280 HP mpg: 14 city / 20 highway
4.2L V8 - 350 HP mpg: 13 city / 18 highway
So, the difference in gas mileage is due to the fact that the 4.2L engine is more powerful.
The second item you mention is the Prestige vs. Premium Plus. These are TRIM LEVELS, and refer to the amount of standard equipment the car will have (such as heated seats, Xenon headlights, etc.)
The trim levels are as follows:
- Premium
- Premium Plus
- Prestige
The “Prestige” Trim level is standard on the 4.2L engine, on the 3.6L engine you have a choice of all three.
So, the price difference between the two cars is due to the different engine sizes (3.6L and 4.2L) and the fact that the Prestige trim level comes with more standard equipment.
The lowest prices Q7 (3.6L standard) costs around $43.500 list price, while a fully loaded 4.2L can be equipped to cost over $83,000.
As to weather the Prestige is worth paying $10,000 more than the Premium Plus, you need to ask yourself if you are interested in the extra engine performance and the extra equipment provided by the Prestige over the Premium Plus trim level.
The main differences seem to be the:
- Xenon Plus headlights,
- Advanced Key features (lets you open/lock and start the car with the key in your pocket/purse),
- Audi Side Assist feature (monitors your blind spots while driving and alerts you of cars in your blind spots when you change lanes), and
- Voice Recognition features (lets you control the phone, radio, navigation system using voice commands instead of buttons),
I’d recommend you go and see an Audi Brand Specialist at your local Audi dealership and let them explain these features to you. Only you can decide if the larger engine and additional features are worth the extra money.
